'SUPERHEROES AND TECHNOLOGY' GRADE 5
OVERVIEW OF LESSON
This art project from grade five where students presents drawings of how the virtual world versus the real world found in video games, popular websites, and social media is perceived. Murakami’s body of work inspired the project, and it is part of an art curriculum continuum aiming to sensitize and develop critical thinking skills through discussions, collaborative brainstorming, and contemporary art.
TEACHING MATERIALS
Learning outcomes: Students will find facts about the use of technology, the world issues and superheroes. They will discuss about the idea of superheroes and masks while analysing examples of different world masks. Students will draw a short comic and make the mask of their chosen superhero. They will present their characters to the school community by visiting other classrooms.
Age group: Upper primary school
Duration: 8 lessons, 45 minutes each

Tools: Scissors, masking tape, pencils, markers, paint, brushes, masking tape.
