'MIGRATION STORIES' GRADE 5
OVERVIEW OF LESSON
Fifth-grade students will inquire into personal stories concerning homes and journeys while making a comic book that narrates a migration story. The questions used for discussions and creating art were: Why is migration like it is? What is culture/diversity/immigration?
TEACHING MATERIALS
Learning outcomes: Students will find facts about why people migrate, altering the existing environment, culture and their own lives and learn how to make an accordion book, draw comic characters and structure an idea for a story.
Age group: Upper primary school
Duration: 8 lessons, 45 minutes each
You will need: White craft paper, construction color paper
Tools: Scissors, masking tape, pencils, markers
Technique: Comic and accordion book
